On Steam, wishlisting a game is one of the easiest ways to show support for developers. Not only does it help developers predict the potential number of sales once a game is released, but it also encourages price drops and select deals.

The few expected anticipated titles sit at the top of Steam’s most wishlisted games: Hollow Knight: Silksong, Elden Ring Nightreign, and Borderlands 4. But now, the upcoming sim-inspired life simulation game inZOI has stolen the top spot.

Despite likely flying under the radar for many of you, the hype for inZOI is absolutely real, and we can’t say it’s unexpected. Since it’s been basically over a decade since the last full entry in the Sims franchise, a new Sim-like game with a bit of a modern redesign seems to be exactly what fans have been looking for.

Published by South Korea-based Krafton and developed by the fully dedicated inZOI Studio, inZOI seems to be the more advanced, modern iteration of the Sims formula that fans have been waiting for.

Although this game has been getting some traction since its reveal, it took a few actual samples of its new features before the hype started to build. Take, for instance, the demo of inZOI’s character creator, which was released last year and generated loads of hype.

Fans immediately began crafting replications of real-life celebrities, popular characters such as Shrek, and extremely detailed depictions of whatever their hearts could imagine. From this moment, it was pretty clear that inZOI had something special.

Additionally, the individual systems within inZOI seem to be highly complex. In-depth social communication systems will allow for much more personal stories with your “zois” in your own unique world.

inZOI’s Hype Won’t Be Slowing Down

Although the amazing features brought by inZOI Studio are a massive reason for this game’s hype, it would be impossible to disregard how this game seems to be reaching fans at exactly the right time.

With AAA releases usually aiming to be profound experiences, truly worthy of that $60+ price tag, inZOI seems to be able to pull back the reigns. With games asking so much of players, this willingness to grant gamers a sandbox that allows them to have fun on their own time makes us absolutely cherish the presence of inZOI.

Once the game goes into early access on March 28th, all of the future expansions will remain free as long as the game remains in early access.

Although some expansions are pretty basic for character interaction and customization, similar to The Sims, others will also add building and city customization features. With hype building even further as inZOI became Steam’s most wishlisted title, things are looking strong for inZOI’s March 28th early access release date.
