Moderation Issues Lead To Removal Of Popular WWE 2K25 Feature

The WWE 2K series’ return to a Nintendo platform has been a welcome one, especially when the game is as enjoyable as WWE 2K25 is.

In our review, I said that it’s one of the best wrestling games ever made and a fantastic entry in the overall sports genre, offering plenty of content to keep you busy throughout the year. It’s also one of DualShocker’s best reviewed games of the year, alongside other Nintendo Switch 2 hits like Donkey Kong Bananza and Mario Kart World.

With any modern sports game, part of the appeal is being able to upload images for the game to model characters. It’s intended as a way to have you become the athlete within the game, even if the feature is far from perfect. It’s been a welcome addition to WWE 2K25, allowing me to live out my childhood dream of winning the Royal Rumble and capturing WWE gold.

As expected, there were some restrictions to the feature at launch, but Nintendo Switch 2 fans are noticing an even bigger change.

The Nintendo Switch 2 Version of WWE 2K25 Doesn't Support Image Uploader, Cross-Platform Community Creations

As spotted by GameRant, the official WWE 2K25 website made some updates to its community guidelines this week about the image uploader tool, particularly when it comes to crossplay creations.

They remind everyone that “WWE 2K Community Creations are shared between platforms of the same generation.” In short, it means the following, per the WWE 2K25 team:

  • Xbox One, Steam, and PlayStation 4 players will share Community Creations
  • PlayStation 5 and Xbox X|S players will share Community Creations
  • Xbox One, Steam, and PlayStation 4 Community Creations will not be accessible on PlayStation 5 and Xbox X|S, and vice versa
  • Nintendo Switch 2 players will not see Image Uploader based Community Creations from any platform or be able to upload their own

The cross-platform restrictions between Xbox One, Steam, and PS4 players and their Xbox Series X|S and PS5 counterparts isn’t all too surprising, but the fact that the Nintendo Switch 2 doesn’t support the feature at all is a bit of a shock.

It’s an extremely popular feature, but I have to wonder if Nintendo had a hand in this decision to help ensure a safer online environment for its users. While disappointing, it’s still nice to see the WWE 2K series back on a Nintendo platform.
