Summary
- A Ridge Racer game for the Switch was discovered in an early devkit build.
- Nintendo has seen leaks of unreleased games before, including Pokemon titles.
- Other leaked game titles include Arms, Splatoon 2, and Rime.
The Nintendo Switch might be nearing the end of its lifespan, but the leaks keep on coming, as a devkit containing unreleased games has been discovered, which includes a build of a Switch-exclusive Ridge Racer title that never came out.
Nintendo has been hit by several leaks over the past few years, as has The Pokemon Company. The Nintendo Gigaleak contained tons of information about retro titles, as the company has been fastidious about record keeping for older games. This hasn’t been as bad for the Nintendo Switch era of games, save for Pokemon titles.

The Switch 2 could be launching with more than just next-gen graphics – it could come with next-gen sticker shock.
A new leak is making the rounds, as reported by the Gaming Leaks and Rumours Reddit. One of these titles is a Ridge Racer game that was intended to be released as an exclusive during the early years of the Switch. Footage of this game is available on the resetthepicture Twitter/X account.
Retro’s Pre-Metroid Prime 4 Game Has Been Revealed
Outside of the lost Ridge Racer game, a title called “Harmony” has been discovered. This seems to be a game developed by Retro Studios that was shelved (possibly temporarily) when the studio was moved onto Metroid Prime 4: Beyond. Harmony appears to be a platform/action-adventure game with a cartoon aesthetic starring a red-haired girl.
The other games allegedly include debug builds of Arms and Splatoon 2, Rime, and an unreleased Lego Civilization game. The origin of the devkit and the leak is currently unclear at this time, though incidents like this have happened before, such as when a build of StarCraft: Ghost was found on an abandoned devkit.
It’s always fascinating to see these “what could have been” games in action, especially when they belong to big franchises. It’s unclear why this Ridge Racer title was shelved, but at least the work that went into it won’t be lost forever.
