Can You Hide Your Helmet?

Unfortunately, you cannot. While many RPGs have this feature, Capcom has chosen not to include it at launch. This is likely because of the team’s overall focus on immersion in the world of Dragon’s Dogma 2. If you were truly dropped into this world, there would be no option to make your helmet invisible. You’d have to proudly wear it if you wanted to take advantage of the defensive benefits it has to offer.

This is similar to the fast travel system being very limited in the game. The developers quite literally encouraging you to get lost in the world. Making a journey from point A to point B is quite literally a journey; there are very few options to just teleport where you want to go. However, there is still a chance that Capcom will add this feature later on once more people have played through the game, as it is an available option in their other popular games like Monster Hunter World.

Although there isn’t a specific option for this, there are thankfully quite a few helmet options that barely cover your face and head. Some of these are limited to the more dextrous Archer and Magick Archer vocations, while others are available for all, including the starting Vocations. Most of these options are in the form of circlets or crowns and can be found at most major city armorers.

And even though a crown might not offer as much defense as a full helmet, you can still get a decent amount of defense from them, as well as other elemental resistances that may not be as prevalent on regular helmets. These crown and circlet-type options are also upgradable just like regular helmets, which means you can make the defense they offer go a long way while still avoiding hiding the perfect face you spent so much time crafting.

You can also wear kerchiefs or masks in addition to your regular headgear. Although they do not provide additional defense, some can provide additional resistances that stack with your crown or circlet. And even though they will cover your lower face, they’ll still keep the top of your face free.
