Sell Your Pals

Character interacting with Pal trade menu in Palworld

In case you didn’t already know, Palworld doesn’t have the feature to release captured Pals back into the wild. Nevertheless, if you no longer have any use of a Pal, the game gives you the option to part ways by selling them off to Pal Merchants.

Pal Merchants may occasionally wander into your base, giving you the opportunity to trade your Pals with them. Alternatively, you can also locate these merchants in various settlements across the game world. In addition to selling your Pals to them, you can also purchase some Pals from these merchants, giving you the chance to fill gaps in your collection. However, it’s important to note that buying Pals from merchants can be a costly affair, while selling your own Pals yields less return.

In addition to standard merchants, you can also find the Black Merchant in Palworld who engages in buying and selling Pals. Notably, the Black Merchant offers some of the rarest Pals in the game, making it worthwhile to seek them out as early as possible.

Euthanize Your Pals

Another option to get rid of your Pals is to outright butcher them. However, unlike Pals in the wild, you cannot harm captured Pals. To butcher your Pals, you’ll need to unlock the Meat Cleaver technology that becomes accessible once you reach player level 12.

Crafting the Meat Cleaver requires the following resources:

  1. Ingot – 5
  2. Wood – 20
  3. Stone – 5

While obtaining wood and stone is relatively easy, ingots must be produced by smelting ore. Once the Meat Cleaver is crafted, you must equip it to one of your weapon slots, which then changes the “Pet” Pal option in the radial menu into “Butcher” Pal. It’s important to note that only active Pals in your party can be butchered, and once this action is taken, the Pal is permanently removed from your party and Palbox.

Furthermore, it’s crucial to note that butchering a Pal only yields basic Pal drops, such as meat and wool for creatures like Lamball. Therefore, a prudent strategy would be to consider selling them to merchants for coin, which can then be invested in acquiring the Pals you desire.
