Yesterday afternoon, Fortnite developer Epic Games announced that it would be teaming up with Tesla to bring the popular Cybertruck to the game as a new cosmetic item. This news hasn’t gone down well with a large portion of the Fortnite community, however, as many are vowing to send anyone who uses the Cybertruck straight back to the lobby.

The Cybertruck will be added to Fortnite as part of the game’s v30.30 update on July 23rd, which will also include new collaborations with Fall Guys and clothing brand Adidas. The game’s latest update includes a massive line-up of new content as Epic Games gears up to say farewell to Chapter 5 Season 3 and hello to Season 4, which is heavily rumoured to be a new Marvel-themed content update.

While there are only a few more weeks left to go until the beginning of Chapter 5 Season 4, Epic Games still has plenty more content in store for the game’s current season. Once servers are back online, players will be able to jump into the new v30.30 update and check out the new Cybertruck. Although, we’re not sure if that’s such a good idea.

Over on X (formerly Twitter), the Fortnite community is joining forces to let fellow players know that if they use the new Cybertruck, they’re being sent straight back to the lobby.

At the time of writing this article, the announcement post for Fortnite x Cyberpunk has a massive 10.6 million views, with thousands of responses and quote tweets. Many of those responses are blasting the decision to add the Cybertruck to Fortnite, with one user saying that it will “make everyone on the map want to get you out of the game as fast as possible.”

Another user said that there is an “unspoken rule amongst a lot of players that they will drop whatever they’re doing to force a Cybertruck user back to the lobby,” with many other users agreeing and echoing a similar sentiment.
