Palworld is more than just a game about capturing Pals to use in combat. It has a very deep focus when it comes to crafting useful items and surviving in various climates. You won’t be able to craft everything with trivial resources; you will need to seek out some of the rarer ones to craft the best stuff.

Palworld: How To Keep Pals Happy

In Palworld, it is essential that you keep your Pals happy. Here’s how you can do that.

A lot of easy-to-come-by resources include Stone and Wood. Not only can you find these resources just lying about on the ground, but you can build special facilities to collect these simple early game resources in an excess amount. However, some resources, such as Ore, Quartz, and Sulfur, will need you to seek out special deposits. You will then need to mine these deposits and bring your hauls back to your base to craft with them.

Best Places To Farm Sulfur

There are 2 ideal places to go when you want to farm some Sulfur in Palworld. The first is the volcanic area located on the far west side of the map. This island is also where you can find Mount Obsidian. The second is in the smaller desert area of the game known as Twilight Dunes. While Twilight Dunes has significantly easier Pals to deal with and is not as hot a climate as the volcanic area, it also has significantly fewer Sulfur deposits. So you will want to turn your attention to the locations surrounding Mount Obsidian. There are 3 locations in particular where you can get a large haul around Mount Obsidian.

Best Sulfur Farming Location 1

Head to Mount Obsidian and activate the various Fast Travel points on the island so that you can navigate and travel around with ease. This won’t help you understand where to find Sulfur, but it will be handy when you want to go Pal hunting for some of the best late-game Pals in this area — such as Astegon and Jetragon. Go to the Mount Obsidian Midpoint Fast Travel location and then head south until you find a small piece of land surrounded by lava (marked with a yellow circle above).

You will notice that there will be several Sulfur deposits on this strip of land. You can set up one of your Palboxes here and then mine away until you are way over your carrying capacity. You can then use the Palbox to quickly travel back to a more inhabitable base. You can put Pals in this Palbox that have a high Mining Work Suitability, but there is little room to have a farm to make it self-sufficient — and there is the risk of Pals falling into the lava.

It is for this reason that you should do all the mining yourself. If you get an Astegon as mentioned earlier, you can make use of its Partner Skill for an increased mining efficiency by riding on its back.

Best Sulfur Farming Location 2

This area of the map is another great place for you to place a Palbox, as it has even more Sulfur deposits than Location 1 — and they are much closer together. On one side is a pool of lava, and on the other side is a solid drop. Do not put any of your Pals to work at this Palbox as they will almost certainly perish in some way while working here. You can travel here, mine the deposits, and then use the Palbox as a means of Fast Travel to get back to your actual base.

Best Sulfur Farming Location 3

For the last location, you should head on over to the Eternal Pyre Tower Entrance Fast Travel location. This area is the best option if you do not want to set up a base or need to worry about traveling a long distance in order to get back to your base. This Fast Travel location can have several Sulfur deposits spawn nearby.

You can then also get yourself a Wumpo to significantly increase your carrying capacity, and even use a Grapple Gun to pull yourself across the ground if you end up being over your carrying capacity. This can allow you to bring massive hauls of Sulfur back to your base.

How To Get Gunpowder Quickly

The main reason you will want Sulfur is to make gunpowder. This makes sense when you want to make a lot of ammo for all the guns you crafted. However, you can save yourself some time and just get the gunpowder directly. While mining Sulfur yields a large amount of resources for you to craft with, you will still need to spend time making it into gunpowder.

Head on over to the Twilight Dunes or Dessicated Desert, which are filled with Tocotoco Pals. You will find an absolute ton of these Pals by running through these areas. Each time you capture or kill any of them, one of their possible drops will be Gunpowder. By capturing these Pals, you can use the Meat Cleaver to butcher them for even more gunpowder.
