America’s Coolest Racing Series Is Getting A Standalone Game By iRacing

iRacing Studios, the development team founded earlier this year by iRacing.com, is expanding beyond the NASCAR franchise.

With NASCAR 25 set to release this October, the newly found studio is setting its sights on another racing brand: INDYCAR.

As announced this morning by the INDYCAR series, iRacing.com Motorsport Simulations has entered a long-term licensing agreement for iRacing Studios to be the sole developer for INDYCAR games on consoles and PC. The first game in the series is set to debut in the second half of 2026 for PlayStation, Xbox, and Steam.

“INDYCAR fans have long been clamoring for a standalone title for consoles, and we’re excited to give them what they’re looking for in 2026,” said Tony Gardner, president, iRacing.com Motorsport Simulations. “iRacing Studios’ standalone INDYCAR title will offer all the excitement of the NTT INDYCAR SERIES and an immersive experience that fans of all ages can enjoy. We are already very excited about how the game is coming together.”

iRacing Studios Has Grown Quickly In The Past Year

Based in Chelmsford, Massachusetts, located 30 miles north of Boston, iRacing Studios has quickly expanded beyond its subscription-based online racing sim that first launched in 2008. With NASCAR 25 releasing this year, plus an INDYCAR game next, they’ve done well to carve out a larger share of the racing genre. At a time when former staples like Forza Motorsport and its developer, Turn 10 Studios, it’s a nice change of pace.

“Our company has grown significantly in recent years with the addition of new development teams and studios,” Gardner added. “Our INDYCAR title will benefit from this growth, as it will be the sole focus of one of these teams. However, the game will also incorporate elements like car and track assets, technology and driving characteristics developed from other iRacing Studios products.”

The press release also touts that “real-world INDYCAR teams and drivers will be deeply involved in the creation of the new title, including Team Penske star and iRacing enthusiast Scott McLaughlin.”

With this partnership, iRacing now has formal partnerships with NASCAR, INDYCAR, the FIA, Mercedes-AMG Petronas F1 Team, and several other car manufacturers, tracks, and racing series.
