inZOI, a game heavily inspired by The Sims and recently showcased at Gamescom, already has longtime Sims fans deeply engaged with the Steam public demo of its Character Creator.
While some have used this designer to create realistic representations of themselves and other imaginary people, others are already stretching the limits by creating highly detailed in-game versions of celebrities like Timothee Chalamet.

Although the current demo for inZOI is simply the character creator and nothing else, it has shockingly already gotten a massive number of players, with the Steam database showing a top player count of 18,657 people within the most recent 24-hour period.
Players are flocking to Twitter to show off their creations, and we’re already surprised by the many diverse options at your disposal to create a “Zoi” within this game.
The developers of inZOI likely understand how pivotal this character creator is to their game, as the Canvas page on their website provides tons of uploaded fan-made creations.
Awesome “Zois” already top the page, with notable recreations of Billie Eilish, Wednesday Adams, and, of course, Shrek, one of the first outcomes whenever there’s a character creator.
Not only can players currently share their creations on this page, but once the game is fully out, anyone can download publically uploaded creations to use within their own inZOI world.
Why Are People So Excited about inZOI?
Sure, we’ve had simulation games in the past, but with fans impressed with this highly detailed character creator, there’s currently a lot of hype building around Inzoi.
One may label inZOI as a high-definition Unreal Engine 5-looking version of The Sims, yet honestly, many fans have wanted that for a while.

Realistic simulation games like Cities: Skylines have given us a comprehensive and lifelike city builder to play with, but for the first time in a while, inZOI seems like a more realistic simulation game geared towards individual characters and their lives.
There are also tons of amazing new additions in inZOI. Controlling your “Zoi” via WASD, custom-created furniture and creative tools, and RPG elements like in-depth social interaction systems allow your individual characters and their stories to be fully custom within a unique world.
With fans already flocking to the inZOI demo of the Character Creator, we’re hoping that when the full version of inZOI releases sometime soon, people will be thrilled by this realistic-looking Sims-like game.

Gamescom 2024: What was your favorite announcement?
Personally, I’m torn between Borderlands 4 and Civilization VII’s gameplay reveal, though I’ll probably side with the former since it took me most by surprise. (Unbelievable how it managed to avoid leaks!) As a big fan of the series starting with the very first game, it definitely feels like the franchise is in a bit of a lull right now. Let’s be honest, the movie was a disaster, though I don’t think that comes as a surprise to anyone. So, while it was just a short CGI reveal, the prospect of a new Borderlands game gets me quite excited for the series at a time when the franchise really needs a bit of a pick-me-up.
