How To Build A Ranch

The Palworld character is about to build a Ranch for their base.

A ranch allows Pals to graze and produce various materials. You can unlock it at level 5 through your Technology menu. When you place it, it will need leveled ground, though sometimes it will allow you to place it glitched onto the ground a bit.

To build it, you will need the following materials:

  • 50 Wood
  • 20 Stone
  • 30 Fiber

How To Assign Pals To A Ranch

The Palworld character is building a ranch on one of their bases to get drops from Pals.

Assigning jobs to Pals on your base can be a little frustrating. Once you select the spot on your base for the ranch, you will need to have some Pals on your base working. Sometimes, the Pals working on your base may not automatically utilize the ranch. If you want them to graze, pick up a Pal and throw it on the ranch.

You will then see that they are “working” and possibly grazing while roaming about. This is an easy way to get drops from Pals.

Other pals who are working on the base with ranks in the Transporting Work Suitability will occasionally pick up the dropped items and store them in a nearby crate.

What Happens When Chests Are Full?

The Palworld character doesn't have enough chests for the Pals to store the drops, resulting in wool everywhere on the base.

If, for some reason, the chests are at capacity, thankfully, the Pals still continue to make drops. However, these drops will probably be left on the ground until you build a new chest or create room in one. To stay organized, it is suggested you ensure you have enough chests available.

Currently, it’s unclear whether you can set specific chests for a particular drop. One way you could try and create a chest for a specific drop is by assigning one Pal at a time with a chest next to the pen. Once you do build another chest, the Pals should automatically start storing it.
