So you’ve reached the Mithra crash site and located some of the surviving crew who urgently need your help, and now it’s time to get your hands dirty.
In Dune: Awakening’s Lost Harvest DLC, you’ll be asked to gather medical supplies, find parts to build a make-shift radio, and retrieve guild tags of deceased Spice Workers, but that’s only just the beginning.
In this guide we’ll walk through Chief Hanso’s Search and Retrieval contract, a grim but necessary mission to search for the bodies of deceased spice workers and bring home their guild tags.
My Mentat character, Boris, may look like an unapproachable, grumpy old desert explorer, but somewhere inside his cold heart is a soft spot for sandworkers, so Chief Hanso’s request immediately took top priority.
In the search and retrieval quest, you’ll need to recover four guild tags in total and one discarded comms device. All the tags are located within a few hundred meters of the crash site, and the comms device is directly beside the last tag you’ll recover.
Be aware that the Kirab who abducted and killed these spice workers are still lurking nearby, so you’ll need to clear them out first.
To make things easier, go into your contracts tab and track Chief Hanso’s Search And Retrieval contract and use the markers on the compass to find where the guild tags are located.
The guild tags are identification tags that members of The Spice Miner’s Guild carry, so once you kill the Kirab, look for the bodies of the guild members.
Guild Tag #1
The first guild tag we retrieved was located in a camp right beside the crash site, roughly 100 meters to the south, and it was being guarded by several unlucky Kirab – Boris was ready for bloodshed.
Once you’ve cleared out the enemies, explore every corner of the cave, and use the marker on your compass to zero-in on the guild tag.
In this camp, it was located at the rear of the cave, tucked into a corner as seen in the picture above.
Guild Tag #2
The second guild tag that we found in Chief Hanso’s search and retrieval contract is close to the first one we found, but it’s located on the outside wall of the rock formation, south-east of the crash site.
The corpse at this location was found on the edge of the cliff—any closer to the sand and a sandworm could’ve jumped up and snagged it off the rocks for a quick snack.
Two down, two more to go!
Guild Tag #3
The third guild tag Liliha and I retrieved was located to the north of the crash site and the body was found leaning up against some trash.
Some of these Dune Men are hard-to-spot and in this case, I walked right past the corpse several times as I initially thought it was the body of Kirab, but upon closer inspection I realized it was indeed the body of one of the Mithra Crew.
The contract marker located on the compass at the top of your screen will be your only guide to which corpse is the one you’re looking for, but when you get right up close to them, you’ll then see the option to ‘interact’ with it.
Boris stayed for a moment to give the slain sandworker a moment of silence.
Guild Tag #4 & The Discarded Comms Device
The fourth and final guild tag I retrieved was found fairly close to the third one, north of the crash site. This body was also very close to the cliff-side and was slightly lower than the main platform, so it could potentially be overlooked if you’re not paying attention.
The discarded comms device was found alongside the final guild tag and once you pick it up, the only thing left to do is bring all the tags back to Chief Hanso – Boris was the bearer of bad news.
A Call From The Safety Warden
Upon locating all the guild tags and finding the discarded comms device, you’ll receive a call from Kief Vallari, Safety Warden of The Spice Miner’s Guild. Begrudgingly, Vallari has called upon you to help retrieve a sealed metal case that was stolen by the Kirab.
This is the start of the ‘Villari’s Prize’ quest line.
The bodies of the fallen crew members you find may be in slightly different positions than the ones seen above, as I did encounter other Dune Men Bodies that I was unable to interact with.
