One element that dictates to me whether the game is worth it or not is playtime. Of course, anyone would (or at least should) be frustrated if they had just purchased a $60 game that offered only ten hours of content.
But at the same time, some RPGs are so bloated that you start feeling the drag past the first twenty hours.

These are the best RPGs available on Xbox Game Pass in 2025, boosted by a couple of incredible day-one launches across PC and consoles.
So, for players who consider both the playtime and having fun an important factor, here, I will be listing all the RPGs in which you can hit 100+ hours of playtime in a single playthrough alone.

Assassin’s Creed Odyssey
The Best of Ancient Greece
After Ubisoft took the RPG approach with Assassin’s Creed Origins, the average playtime of their games increased dramatically, with the introduction of a massive open world.
Ubisoft went a step further with Assassin’s Creed Odyssey by creating one of the biggest and most packed open worlds of its time. The map is packed with beautiful locales, side missions, and treasure for players to find.
This is my most played Assassin’s Creed game, and if you factor in the DLC content as well, then you are easily looking at over 120+ hours of playtime in a single playthrough alone.
9
Fallout 4
Post-Apocalyptic Boston
What better way to spend a hundred hours than to explore a post-apocalyptic wasteland looking for your kidnapped son?
Fallout 4 or Fallout games, in general, are known for being jam-packed with content, such as side missions and chance encounters. As you explore the aftermath of a nuclear winter, the immersion will make you forget that you are playing a game.
While I agree that the world and exploration can get bland for some players, if the loop clicks for you, you’re looking at hundreds, if not thousands, of hours. That’s especially true if you go down the modding route.

Monster Hunter World
When Hunting Gets Addictive
If grind and action sequences are more your cup of tea, then there is no better game to spend a hundred hours on than Monster Hunter World. Monster Hunter Rise and Wilds are great games, but when it comes to content, World is most jam-packed with it, thanks to all the Iceborne DLC and all the updates it has received.
The entire gameplay loop of Monster Hunter World revolves around you hunting monsters, gathering resources, and using those resources to craft better gear and weapons for you and your palico.
The gameplay itself is highly addictive thanks to the humongous bosses with unique move sets. The end-game content then treats you by having some of the best and hardest boss fights in gaming.

Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2
Experience Medieval Europe
Ever wondered what it would be like to live in medieval times? Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 is the game for you, as the developers designed this game with this goal in mind, as they wanted to create the most hyper-realistic medieval RPG to date.
Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 has you start with nothing to your name, and you have to climb out of that predicament by any means necessary, whether it be through doing jobs, stealing, or gambling.

Some perks in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 are always worth unlocking, regardless of what style of playthrough a player chooses.
Players are given full freedom to play the game as they want. I put in 20+ hours in the game before even finishing the first main mission, which was to attend Ballif’s daughter’s wedding. KCD2 lets you lose track of time exploring its beautiful and charming world.
6
Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth
A Reimagining of a Legend
Final Fantasy 7: Rebirth is one of the biggest Final Fantasy games ever made, with playtime reaching almost a hundred hours just to end the main story on higher difficulties.
It offers a standard open world with research towers, mini-bosses, treasures, and a ton of other side content. It consists of multiple unique mini-games, on which you can spend 20+ hours alone.
The game doesn’t allow you to focus solely on the story, so you have to focus on side content as well, whether it be side quests or grinding for better gear, or more materia. Without the grind, you will be beaten to an absolute pulp by Sephiroth.
If you are going for 100% completion, then you can expect 200+ hours of playtime, especially when you factor in those insanely brutal Legendary Combat Challenges.
A Trip Back Memory Lane
The Elder Scrolls games are among the founding fathers of the RPG genre that we know of today. Oblivion and Morrowind were among the first 3D RPGs made by Bethesda.
Oblivion Remastered perfectly captures the spirit of the original Oblivion and has everything an RPG wants. The game offers various builds like Barbarian and Mage, enchanting visuals, and a huge open world that players can explore.
If you get hooked on Oblivion Remastered, then you can also try out other games from the Elder Scrolls franchise, like Skyrim or Morrowind.
Overall, one thing I love about The Elder Scrolls games is the amount of freedom they offer. From the get-go, you are allowed to go anywhere in the world and explore it at your own whim. Getting 100+ hours of playtime is honestly a piece of cake in this franchise.
4
Persona 5 Royal
A Game That Will Steal Your Heart
Whichever one of the recent Persona games you choose, whether it be Persona 3 Reload, Persona 4 Golden, or Persona 5 Royal, you are bound to have a great time.
Each game consists of its own set of an enchanting story, memorable characters, and a high school simulator, which will make you forget about your real life. I have 100+ hours of playtime in all three Persona games.
You will need to utilize each day performing activities that either increase your character stats or deepen your relationship with your friends. The Persona games do such a fantastic job of immersing you in their world that you will start wishing that the game never ends as you reach the end of the story.
3
The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt
100+ Hours Of Gwent
The Witcher 3 offers a masterclass of an open world, memorable characters, intricate monster designs, and a memorable story. It is my most played RPG at 300+ hours.
As you explore the fantasy world of The Witcher 3 as a monster hunter for hire, you will come across enchanting locales, side missions, chance encounters, and hidden monsters. The game immerses you in its world so flawlessly that you will lose track of time once you sit on that gaming seat and start playing.

The Witcher 3 also doesn’t shy away from showcasing the darker themes of its grim and depressive world. With the DLC content included, this game is bound to slide into your favorite RPGs of all time list.
2
Baldur’s Gate 3
Every Decision Has A Consequence
Baldur’s Gate 3 was among the few RPGs that took the world by storm when it came out in 2023. It took the role-playing element to a new level by having players face the consequences of even the most obscure decision they may have made a while back.
It is among the very few RPGs that have you take a step back before every choice and wonder how this decision might affect your playthrough. I still remember the time I was playing the game like normal after killing a few goblins, and out of nowhere, an entity appeared and told me that I had broken my Knight’s oath.
If you want to invest a hundred hours playing a true role-playing game in which every decision can bite you in the back later, then Baldur’s Gate 3 is the next game you should play.

Elden Ring
The Hero of our Time
After Sekiro won Game of the Year in 2019, a lot of expectations were riding on From Software as they developed their first open-world RPG. Defying all odds, Elden Ring broke all records and reached the pinnacle of the genre.
Elden Ring has everything an RPG fan wants, whether it be a compelling story, a beautiful open world, lore-rich writing, or diversity in gameplay. It offers countless combinations of builds, giving players the option to survive throughout the world as they see fit.
Of course, the Soulslike genre is known for its soul-crushing difficulty, but Elden Ring is among the most accessible From Software games. Whether you are a long-time Soulslike fan or new to the genre, Elden Ring will give you one of the best gaming experiences of your life.
