God Of War: Ragnarök’s PC System Requirements Revealed
The PC port requirements for God of War: Ragnarök’s includes an advisory to have an eye-watering 190GB of storage free
The listing specifically asked for those “who are fluent with the combat design choices, systems, mechanics, and enemies in God of War (2018) and God of War Ragnarök (2022) are preferred,” hinting that the rumored new IP might also be in development.
Since Kratos returned to our consoles in 2018 as a father, fans have yet to have enough, with the sequel even breaking a PlayStation sales record the week it dropped. This demand isn’t lost on the developers, whose hiring calls have been ground for rumors since November last year.
It has long been hinted that we’re nearing the end of Kratos’ story, but as of now, we don’t know if the next entry in the series will be his epilogue or Atreus’ prologue.
What’s Cooking At Santa Monica Studios?
God of War is the studio’s golden goose that keeps on laying tasty little golden eggs, but the studio’s hiding something aside from a sequel.
As Santa Monica Studio has almost exclusively worked on God of War projects in the past, it is of great importance that the hiring post mentions the series only in the “preferred” section, not as a requirement.

God Of War Ragnarok Is As Great A Family Drama As Any TV Show
Kratos’s role as the heart of story is what really holds it together.
Cory Barlog, director and writer for the 2018 game and creative director of Ragnarök, said the studio wants to branch out into different IPs as early as 2022. In a recent X post, he said he’s come back to SMS to “cause chaos.”
Barlog’s next game has been rumored to be set in space, so unless Kratos is launching a space program to exterminate Space Gods, it’s unlikely he’s only working on another God of War game.
This new IP is big for SMS as, aside from externally developed projects, they haven’t released anything without Kratos’ pale and sullen face in 20 years.
Information about the next God of War and the rumored sci-fi game is scarce, with a few X and LinkedIn posts as our only sources. Whatever SMS has in store, it’s certain to create ripples in the industry.
Still, a man can hope that we see Atreus in his own game, and Kratos in a space shuttle headed towards Mars.
