Grand Theft Auto 6 Fans Believe They’ve Found A New Reference In Latest GTA Online Update

Highlights

  • GTA 6 fans find a possible nod to the game’s first trailer in GTA Online’s Bottom Dollar Bounties update.
  • The update adds new features, vehicles, and clothing items, including a necklace identical to one in GTA 6’s trailer.

Grand Theft Auto 6 fans believe Rockstar Games has included a subtle nod to the game’s first trailer in GTA Online’s new Bottom Dollar Bounties update.

The new update was released late last month and not only saw the return of another Grand Theft Auto 5 character, but even appears to be somewhat similar to a previously canned GTA Online update known as Cops ‘n’ Crooks. Bottom Dollar Bounties allows players to start up their own bounty hunting business, complete new dispatch work jobs, purchase new vehicles, and much more.

PlayStation Stars Has Now Been Offline Longer Than The Infamous 2011 PSN Hack, But A Return Looks Imminent

Sony has announced that PlayStation Stars is now returning in a regional rollout after being offline for almost a month.

Similar to previous Grand Theft Auto Online updates, the Bottom Dollar Bounties DLC adds a plethora of new clothing items for players to get their hands on. But this time, players have noticed that a new necklace appears to be pretty much identical to one seen in Grand Theft Auto 6’s official trailer.

As noticed by a user on Reddit, the ‘Silver Layered Necklace’, which can be purchased in-game from Ponsonbys, is the exact same necklace worn by a character in the GTA 6 trailer. While there’s some debate on whether or not this character is Lucia, there’s no denying that the two necklaces are identical to each other.

There was previously speculation from the community that Rockstar Games was porting assets from Grand Theft Auto 6 into GTA Online, similar to the above necklace. But, according to a 3D artists and data-miner, that’s not the case. “They don’t back port content,” Monkeypolice188 said on X (formerly Twitter). “The vehicles are made for [Grand Theft Auto 5/GTA Online] before they’re improved for [Grand Theft Auto 6]. We have yet to see any vehicle that’s been seen in VI before it’s been in V/O, and that’s why.”

Grand Theft Auto 6 is currently set to release in Fall 2025, and while some believed the fast-approaching release window would cause GTA Online’s frequent updates to slow down, Rockstar says there’s still plenty more to come.
