Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 2: Best Drop Locations

Fortnite Myths & Mortals is shaping up to be the best Season of Chapter 5 so far, with a great deal of godly new content for Battle Royal. The loot pool of Fortnite has been switched up once again with the appearance of Mythic abilities like the Thunderbolts of Zeus and the Wings of Icarus, and players can also make use of passive abilities by picking up one of the four boss Medallions. However, that is not all that has changed this season.

The loot pool has changed once again. Here are the best weapons to use in Fortnite Myths & Mortals, all ranked!

Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 2 also sees the emergence of new locations ripped straight out of Greek Mythology. These locations are not only a marvel to behold but are also some of the best places to drop to. Mount Olympus, The Underworld, Grim Gate, and Brawler’s Battleground do take center stage for the best locations this season. However, there are also a few notable underrated spots to drop to as well.

Mount Olympus

Highly Contested Location With High-Tier Loot

Mount Olympus, while being one of the most contested locations, is without a doubt one of the ultimate POIs to head to. This location has a whopping 38 possible Chest spawns in total, along with 4 Olympian Chests to guarantee you one of the two Olympian Power items. There is also a tonne of verticality in this location thanks to the multitude of buildings here, allowing you to effectively use height advantage to your disposal. If that is not enough, you can also get Zeus’ Huntress DMR by defeating Zeus.

Summit Temple

Great Low Profile Drop Spot

Summit Temple is a great low-profile landing spot to head to right at the start of the game. This POI is located northeast of Mount Olympus, making it pretty uncontested. Mount Summit Temple sports 7 possible Chest spawns, along with 1 Olympian Chest. Once you have looted the area, you can then take the zipline at the Summit Base Camp and head on over to Summit Base, which has a whopping 12 total Slurp Barrels to get both you and your teammates to full Shield – without the use of Shield items.

Summit Base Secret Cave

Great Hidden Location With Lots Of Loot

There is a secret cave that is virtually uncontested for the start of this season. This area can be accessed via the shore to the east of the Summit Base Camp. This secret cave contains 8 possible Chest spawns along with 3 Slurp Barrels. It is also quite a niche spot to head to, and you can easily rotate over to Mount Olympus once you have finished looting it. However, it is pretty far out, meaning you may get caught in the storm if the circle falls too far away from you.

Brawler’s Battleground

Great For Loot & Offers A Guaranteed Mythic

Brawler’s Battleground is a brand-new POI that is a great area to go to for a few key reasons. Firstly, this area has around 23 possible Chest spawns, along with 4 Olympian Chests and 16 Slurp Barrels to get your Shield stocked up. The potential loot you can acquire here is great, but expect to encounter quite a few early-game fights when dropping here. Another aspect that makes Brawler’s Battleground so great is the fact that you can take on Ares and acquire his Mythic Warforged Assault Rifle – which is without a doubt one of the best weapons in the game.

Research Rock

Underrated Low-Profile Drop location

If Brawler’s Battleground feels a little crowded, then Research Rock may be more to your liking. Research Rock is an area located to the far east of Brawler’s Battleground and is currently pretty uncontested because of the new location. This area boasts 20+ possible Chest spawns, along with 9 Slurp Barrels for quick Shield. What makes this area so good, however, is that you can quickly loot while keeping a low profile, and then rotate over to Brawler’s Battleground to potentially secure the Mythic Warforged Assault Rifle.

Grim Gate

Provides Excellent Mobility & Guarantees A Great Mythic

Grim Gate is a spookily great POI to drop to and secure a tonne of loot early game – that is if you can get past a few early game fights. Grim Gate is located right by The Underworld and is mostly the least contested out of the two locations. At Grim Gate, you can find around 25 possible Chest spawns, 21 Slurp Barrels, and 4 Olympian Chests. Heading into the water flowing through this location will also bestow you with Underworld Dash, providing you with excellent mobility. What makes this location even better is that you can acquire the Mythic Gatekeeper Shotgun here upon defeating Cerberus – along with his Medallion.

The Underworld

Highly Contested Location With High Loot Potential

Of course, The Underworld is among the best locations to head to for Fortnite Myths & Mortals. This hellish POI sits just ahead of Grim Gate, attracting quite a large number of the player base during the first storm phase. If you can get past various early-game battles, you will find yourself securing some valuable loot when heading here. The Underworld boasts 40+ possible Chest spawns in and around its vicinity, along with 4 Slurp Barrels and 5 Olympian Chests. Just like Grim Gate, this location also provides excellent mobility through the use of the Underworld Dash. You can also take on Hades here and steal his Mythic Harbinger SMG – along with his Medallion.
