With only a single save file and no apparent way to start a new game, many players are wondering how exactly they can delete their saves after making a catastrophic error and wanting to start their game over from the start. There is only one way to make a new save file, and that is to delete your old one first.

How To Delete Your Save

Firstly, you will need to know that this method will differ depending on what system you are using. This will involve disabling any cloud saves that might synchronize and interfere with the process.


Deleting Your Steam Save File

  • Launch Steam
  • Click on the “Library” tab next to “Store”
  • Right-click on Dragon’s Dogma 2 and select “Properties
  • On the “General” tab, disable the toggle for keeping games on the Steam Cloud
  • Navigate to “C:Program Files (x86)Steamuserdata
  • Use the search feature for “2054970” to find the Dragon’s Dogma 2 folder
  • Delete all the files in this folder
  • Start a new game, then play for a while so that you have a new saved game on your PC
  • Re-enable Steam Cloud if you want a save backed up on the cloud

  • Select “Saved Data
  • Select “Delete All

  • If you want a save backed up on the cloud, Go to “Network Settings” and select “Go Online”

  • Go to “Settings
  • Go to “Saved Data and Game/App Settings
  • Select “Sync Saved Data
  • Turn off “Auto-Sync Saved Data
  • Go to “Storage
  • Select “Saved Data
  • Select “PS5 Games
  • Select “Dragon’s Dogma 2
  • Select “Delete
  • Play the game for a while so that you have a new saved game on your PS5
  • Re-enable “Auto-Sync Saved Data” if you want a save backed up on the cloud
